Ingredients Needed in this Recipe
Here’s what you need to make this deliciously decadent recipe!
- Large Eggs– Large eggs provide leavening, so your cake will have an even texture and not just be a dense hunk of chocolate goodness. It also ensures that everything binds together perfectly resulting in perfectly baked, delicious cake every time.
- Buttermilk– Buttermilk creates the signature moist texture of this scrumptious cake, and gives it a unique flavor. It has unique acidity levels that bring out the chocolatey goodness for which this cake is known.
- Canola Oil– Canola Oil is an extremely versatile ingredient, and this makes it a great choice to use when baking a Hershey’s Bar Chocolate Cake. Not only does it give the cake an amazing taste, but it also helps make the cake moist, light and fluffy.
- Fresh Brewed Coffee– Adding a touch of fresh brewed coffee to your Hersheys Bar chocolate cake will definitely take it to the next level! It adds a subtle but impressive aroma that makes the rich chocolate flavor even better.
- Baking Soda– This special ingredient is key for anyone who wants to achieve that perfect Hersheys bar chocolate cake. The baking soda reacts with other ingredients like butter and sugar, creating air bubbles within the batter. This makes the cake fluffy, light and incredibly moist – exactly how a chocoholic would want their Hershey’s Bar Cake to turn out!
- Baking Powder– Baking powder is essential for any cake lover who wants to make their Hersheys Bar Chocolate Cake extra special. It helps the batter to rise, creating an airy, delicious texture and a golden brown crunchy crust. Plus, baking powder adds plenty of flavor – it contains cream of tartar or acid salt which helps bind ingredients together while giving the cake a rich, delightful taste.
- Kosher Salt– If you’re looking to bring out the best flavor of your Hersheys Bar Chocolate Cake recipe, then kosher salt is the way to go. Kosher salt not only adds an extra burst of flavor – it also helps to bring out the real sweetness of all the delicious chocolate in your cake.
- Cocoa Powder– Cocoa powder gives the cake its signature deep, dark chocolate flavor. It also adds more depth and richness to the overall taste – something that you can only reach with cocoa powder- so it’s important to use quality ingredients when creating this delicious treat.
- Flour– For a Hersheys Bar Chocolate Cake, all-purpose flour is typically the best flour to use. It has enough rise and gives the cake structure, making it tender and light. Plus, all-purpose flour can be found in most grocery stores, so it’s very convenient.
- Sugar– Not only does it add sweetness to a cake mix, but sugar also helps create a soft texture. It attracts moisture from the air which helps keep the cake from drying out and becoming stale while also helping give cakes their signature fluffy texture.
- Sweet Cream Butter– Sweet cream butter provides an amazing flavor and texture to a Hershey’s Bar Chocolate Cake frosting. It is creamy, smooth, and rich in taste that can add an irresistible zing to your cake. Additionally, since sweet cream butter is derived from pure cows milk, it does not contain any saturated fats- making it great for baking healthier treats!
- Powdered Sugar– Powdered sugar, also known as icing or confectioners’ sugar, is perfect for Hershey’s Bar Chocolate Cake frosting. This type of sugar has been finely ground and mixed with cornstarch to create a much smoother texture that blends in with other ingredients easily.
- Heavy Whipping Cream– With its creamy and luxurious texture, heavy whipping cream is perfect to frost a Hershey’s Bar Chocolate Cake. Its subtle sweetness enhances the cake without overpowering it; at the same time, its firm yet velvety consistency allows for effortless spreading on your favorite dessert.
- Vanilla Extract– Vanilla extract is a great way to add flavor and aroma to your Hershey’s Bar Chocolate Cake frosting. It has a strong, sweet flavor that complements the natural sweetness of chocolate, while also adding some complexity with its notes of woody and smoky flavors.
- Hershey Bars– Hershey Bars are a classic American candy bar revered around the globe. The iconic chocolate bars, beloved by many sweet tooths, have been produced since 1900. The bars are famously known for their silky smooth texture and deep chocolate flavor, making it the perfect indulgence for any chocoholic.
