What You Need to Make these Halloween Cookies:
Vanilla Cake Mix– A box of vanilla cake mix is a great shortcut that will make your cookies taste like they came from a bakery. Best of all, this is an easy recipe that even novice bakers can master.
Eggs – Eggs help the cookies to rise and hold their shape, making them nice and fluffy. Even if you’re using a box cake mix, you’ll still need eggs to get the perfect cookie texture.
Canola Oil– Canola oil is important for cookies because it helps to tenderize the cookies and make them chewy. It also gives cookies a nice flavor and prevents them from drying out.
Halloween Sprinkles– If you’re looking for an easy way to make Halloween-themed cookies, then you can’t go wrong with using Halloween sprinkles. All you need is a cake mix and some Halloween sprinkles, and you’re good to go!
Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter– When it comes to making frosting, unsalted sweet cream butter is the best type of butter to use. Sweet cream butter has a higher fat content than other types of butter, which gives it a richer flavor and smoother texture. It’s also great for halloween cookies and other decorations that require a little extra stability.
Powdered Sugar– If you’re looking to make a quick and easy batch of frosting, powdered sugar is your best bet. Also known as confectioner’s sugar, this type of sugar is finely ground and has a powdery texture. This makes it much easier to dissolve in liquids, which is why it’s often used in cake mixes and other recipes that call for a smooth and lump-free icing. It’s also the perfect choice for decorating Halloween cookies and other treats.
Pure Vanilla Extract– Nothing beats the flavor of homemade frosting made with pure vanilla extract. Not only does pure vanilla extract add a delicious flavor to frosting, but it also helps to make the frosting more stable and easy to work with. This is especially important when making frosting for decorated cookies.
Heavy Whipping Cream– Heavy whipping cream is a type of dairy product that is made from milk and cream that contains a higher percentage of milk fat, which makes it ideal for frosting. When frosting is made with heavy whipping cream, it is light and fluffy, yet firm enough to hold its shape. In addition, frosting made with heavy whipping cream is also less likely to melt in warm weather. As a result, it is the perfect choice for decorating cakes and cookies.
Neon Green Gel Food Coloring– Neon green frosting is the perfect way to add a splash of color to your Halloween cookies. And with neon green gel food coloring, it’s easy to get that perfect shade of green. Plus, the gel food coloring is more concentrated than liquid food coloring, so you’ll need less of it to get the desired color. So if you’re looking for an easy way to add some fun and festive colors to your Halloween frosting, neon green gel food coloring is a great option.
Large Piping Bag with Star Tip– When it comes to decorating cookies, a large piping bag with a star tip is the way to go. With this type of frosting bag, you’ll be able to frost and decorate your cookies like a pro. The star tip will give your frosting a nice, even shape and the large size of the piping bag will make it easier to pipe the frosting onto your cookies. Plus, if you’re decorating Halloween cookies, a large piping bag with a star tip is the perfect thing to use.

Why Should I Make Cookies from a Cake Mix?
Making cookies from a cake mix can be a godsend when you’re short on time or ingredients. It’s also a delicious way to make a cookie that’s tender and moist.
You can add chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit to cake mix cookies. Cake mix makes a soft and chewy cookie that’s full of flavor and is a fun recipe to make with kids. They’ll love to help stirring in the mix-ins and shaping the dough into balls.
Why Do My Cookies Look Like Muffins?
There’s nothing more disappointing than cookies that look like muffins. You follow the recipe to a T, but instead of light, fluffy cookies, you end up with dense, cakey discs. So, what went wrong?
One common culprit is using a recipe that is too complicated. cookies should be easy to make – after all, they’re one of the most popular types of dessert for a reason. If your cookies are coming out looking like muffins, try following a simpler recipe.
Another issue could be the type of vanilla cake mix you’re using. Some brands are denser than others, which can result in cookies that are too moist and heavy. If you’re using a cake mix that tends to produce muffin-like cookies, try adding an extra egg or using less milk. You might also need to bake the cookies for a shorter period of time.
Is Melted Butter OK to Use in Cake Mix Cookies?
Cake mix cookies are one of the easiest recipes to make. All you need is a box cake mix, some softened butter, and an egg. However, sometimes you don’t have time to wait for the butter to soften, or you forget to set it out ahead of time.
If this happens, you can just use melted butter instead. It might seem like melted butter would make the cookies spread too much, but it actually works just as well as softened butter. So next time you’re in a hurry, or you forgot to soften your butter, don’t worry – just use melted butter and your cookies will turn out great.
