Ingredients Needed for this Recipe
Here’s what you need for this incredibly easy recipe!
- Chocolate Wafer Cookies– Chocolate Wafer Cookies are the perfect choice for a candy cane cookie cake. The chocolate flavor complements the peppermint of the candy cane, and the cookies themselves are nice and crisp. When layered with frosting, they create a cake that is both flavorful and easy to eat.
- Milk– One key to making a great candy cane cookie cake is to brush the chocolate wafers with milk before adding the filling. This helps to soften the wafers and make them more pliable, so they’re less likely to crack when you bend the cake as a whole. In addition, the milk helps to bring out the flavor of the chocolate, making for a richer, more intense flavor in your final cake.
- Cool Whip Topping– Cool Whip Topping is often added to cookie wafer cake because it provides a light, fluffy texture that complements the crunch of the cookies. In addition, Cool Whip Topping can be flavored with various extracts and spices to complement the flavor of the cake.
- Angel Flake Coconut– Angel Flake Coconut is often used as a topping or filling for desserts like candy cane cookie cake. It’s also a good choice for those who are looking for a dairy-free option, as it’s made from coconut milk. Angel Flake Coconut is high in fiber and has a naturally sweet flavor that compliments the sweetness of the cookie cake. In addition, the Angel Flake Coconut adds a nice texture to the cake.
- Red String Licorice– Red String Licorice is the perfect topping for a candy cane cookie cake. The chewy licorice pairs well with the crunch of the cookie, and the bold flavor of the licorice complements the sweetness of the cake. Red String Licorice is also a festive way to decorate a holiday dessert. The bright red color is perfect for Christmas, and the flavor of the licorice is reminiscent of peppermint.
