20+ Amazing Peppermint Cookies and Desserts You Have to Try
There’s a lot more that goes into making peppermint desserts than you might think. I mean, if just anybody could toss peppermint extract into any cookie dough or chocolate, well, we’d have a lot more than just 20+ peppermint treats to look at.
But, alas, you have a lot more to think about than toss and eat. So, here’s a few tips to make sure you’re going to be happy-pappy with your mint dessert.
TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST Peppermint dessertS
- Actually follow the recipe. Too much peppermint extract or not enough chocolate or just a wee too much time in the oven and you’re looking at dry, bitter, un-fun peppermint snacks.
- If your recipe calls for a premade cookie or other treat, be sure to get the name brand. I’m not trying to be some kind of snooty snoot or anything, and I certainly am a totally frugal person in real-life. But Christmas is special. Christmas deserves the more fabulous flavors and the couple of extra dollars it might cost you, well, it will be worth it.

How Long will Peppermint Desserts LasT?
I love these peppermint desserts, but sometimes I kind of over-make on the desserts. So they have to hang out until the kiddos and I can polish them off. No big deal, right? Right.
Sometimes that can take a while. Generally, that’s fine. I just keep my peppermint treats on the counter in an airtight container. But you really have to pay attention to each recipe to do this. So, check out what the author of each recipe calls for.
Peppermint normally has no problem going into the fridge, but you’re going to want to watch out for the chocolate. There’s no end to how many times I’ve put chocolate in the fridge and it’s come out with that weird film and I was so disappointed.
So, if your peppermint dessert has chocolate, don’t put it in the fridge or the freezer. Unless you’re ok with the weird film.
