Ingredients Needed for This Cookie:
- Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter– Unsalted sweet cream butter is important for cookies because it allows you to control the amount of salt in the recipe. While some recipes call for salted butter, using unsalted butter gives you the opportunity to add just the right amount of salt to suit your taste. Unsalted sweet cream butter also has a higher fat content than salted butter, which gives cookies a richer flavor and softer texture.
- Light Brown Sugar– The molasses in the sugar helps to create a soft, chewy texture, while the brown sugar itself contributes to a rich flavor.
- White Sugar– White sugar helps to create a light and airy texture, and also plays a role in the browning process. Without sugar, cookies would be dense and heavy, with a bland flavor.
- Large Eggs– Eggs are a key ingredient in many cookie recipes. They help to bind the ingredients together, and also contribute to the texture and structure of the finished cookie.
- Light Corn Syrup– Corn syrup is used in many cookie recipes because it helps to keep the cookies moist. Corn syrup also has a role in helping the cookies to maintain their shape.
- Pure Vanilla Extract– Pure Vanilla Extract helps to bind the ingredients together and gives the cookies a pleasing aroma.
- All Purpose Flour– When combined with other ingredients, all-purpose flour helps cookies to spread evenly and become nice and tender.
- Hershey Dark Cocoa Powder– This cocoa is perfect for making rich, intense chocolate desserts. It has a deep, dark color and a slightly bitter taste that really brings out the flavor of chocolate.
- Cornstarch– Cornstarch helps to give cookies their chewy texture by absorbing moisture and preventing them from spreading too thin while baking. It also helps to create a crisp outer edge on the cookies.
- Baking Soda– Baking soda is a leavening agent, which means that it helps cookies to rise and become fluffy. Additionally, baking soda helps cookies to spread evenly while baking.
- Kosher Salt– Kosher salt also has a higher concentration of minerals, which gives it a more distinct flavor. When baking cookies, Kosher salt helps to bring out the flavor of the ingredients and provides a crispy texture.
- Chopped Oreos– Oreos have a unique flavor that is instantly recognizable and you may have to put a few aside for this recipe before they disappear!

Supplies Needed for the Frosting
- Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter– The high fat content in butter helps to create a light, fluffy texture, while the lack of salt prevents the frosting from being too sweet.
- Powdered Sugar– When making a frosting, powdered sugar helps to create a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Heavy Whipping Cream– Heavy whipping cream has a higher fat content than other types of cream, which means that it whips up more easily and produces a much thicker frosting.
- Pure Vanilla Extract– Pure Vanilla extract has a natural sweetness that compliments the sweetness of most frostings.
- Oreos– They are a classic, crunchy cookie that are so delicious chopped and added on top of a mound of frosting.
- Funfetti Sprinkles– Funfetti sprinkles are tiny pieces of colorful candy that are often used to decorate cakes, cupcakes, and cookies.
- Large Piping Bag with Round Tip– Large piping bags make it easy to create beautiful and professional-looking frosted cookies. In addition, large piping bags allow you to pipe larger designs onto the cookies, which can be helpful if you are trying to create a specific look or design.
