4 Cups Mini Marshmallows + one extra cup
6 Cups of Rice Cereal
16 Ounces of Almond Bark
Star Cookie Cutters of various sizes
Red, white, and blue sprinkles

HOW TO MAKE 4TH OF JULY STARS RICE KRISPIE Treats

First we want to melt the butter. Add the butter to a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave for 30 seconds or until completely melted.

Put in 4 cups of marshmallows and stir to coat.

Put the bowl in the microwave and melt in 45-second increments until the marshmallows are melted, stirring every 45 seconds.

Once melted, add in the rest of the marshmallows and stir only.

Fold in the Rice Krispies cereal with the melted marshmallows.

Add the sprinkles.

There are a few things that you can do here if you’re worried about it sticking. You can spray the inside of the bowl with a nonstick cooking spray or you can rub some butter all around as well.

Either method will work just fine for keeping your bowl easier to clean.

Can you melt the marshmallows in a pan on the stove?

You can but this will require you to stand there the entire time and be certain that you’re stirring the entire time, too. The stovetop method is fine for melting marshmallows but it’s also an easy way to burn the marshmallows as well. I would use a double boiler.
