This Frozen Banana Caramel Pie is a combination of cold and sweet with a smooth and creamy texture. This is my go-to pie in the summer and it’s one of those easy pie recipes that I actually crave.
That said, when tastebuds are craving it I will make it any time of year!
Make certain that you grab a piece of this pie once it’s done because it’s guaranteed to be gone in the blink of an eye!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE Frozen Banana Pie
Crust Ingredients
- 1 9-inch graham cracker crust
Filling Ingredients
- 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk
- 3 bananas
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 3 ounces dark chocolate candy bar with toffee
HOW TO MAKE Frozen Banana caramel Pie
Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees.
Take the sweetened condensed milk and pour it into a baking dish. ( a smaller one as you’re going to need to fit this inside a larger one shortly) Once done, cover the dish with aluminum foil and set inside a larger dish.
Now you’re going to pour boiling water into the pan and put it in the oven to bake for 1 hour – or until the mixture is caramelized or thick.
Take your bananas and start cutting them. Once done, arrange them in the pie crust.
After the mixture has cooked in the oven, take it out and pour it over the bananas. Allow cooling for 30 minutes and then mix together the whipping cream on high until it thickens up. Add in your powdered sugar at this time on a low mixing speed.
Once complete, add the whipped topping to the top of the pie. Also, add on the chopped up candy bars. Put in the freezer for 4 hours or more, then serve.
Can you east this caramel pie when it’s not frozen?
You can, but why? It’s SO good when it’s eaten frozen and straight from the freezer. Not only does it keep its shape and hold together as a piece of pie should, but it just gives it such a good texture and taste.
Can I make my own homemade pie crust?
You sure can! If you’re not a fan buying a premed crust, you can make you own. You can even do a homemade graham cracker crust with crush up graham crackers and butter melted together if you want.
Is it possible to leave the crust off of this pie?
Yes. If you prefer to not have a crust, don’t have one. Just know that there’s a good chance that the pie pieces aren’t going to have much shape or form to them since they don’t have a crust holding them together.
Tips for baking a Frozen Banana Caramel Pie
This pie isn’t hard to make at all but these tips can make it an even more easy process.
- Make certain that you freeze for the entire 4 hour duration. It takes this long for the pie to completely set up and be ready to eat.
- If you’re not a fan of having pieces of a candy bar on top, you can always switch out for chocolate chips or even just some simple chocolate shavings.
